The Group I Dubai World Cup, sponsored by Emirates, stands alone as the world's richest horse race with 6 million dollar purse.
The inaugural event started in 1996, but now draws the best talent from all over the world. With the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East, in general, hosting what is now the centerpiece of international racing and recognized as the thoroughbred "World Championship".
